Understanding this paradox is particularly important when it comes to seeking help, whether medical or otherwise, or when it comes to being rejected. Someone who’s depressed may not be good at expressing how or when they need help. Don’t turn away just because they insist that they’re beyond help.
Actually sometimes I wonder whether people struggling with mental illnesses are worth the trouble, myself included. But the one tool we have to get well again is the tool that is broken. In other illnesses, willpower and mental fortitude is something that helps a lot. How can we exercise willpower with a broken mind?
In my case, I return to God to seek for help to take care of things that I can’t. But nonetheless… It’s hard to think that I’m worth anything, including the love of God.
I’m rambling.
Back to the paradox – help us if you can.
