I’m a firm believer in helping others. But helping means helping them where they need help, in a place where they are.

My rules are simple – don’t help just so you can feel better about yourself. Don’t help only because it’s convenient to help in that particular way. Ask. Listen. And then see where you can help. Because that’s really helping in life for the person you’re seeking to help.

This works for everything but it’s particularly important when it comes to mental health issues. So, go, ask, listen, and help with love.

If you’re Christian, that should resonate even more with your mission.
