The damage that we do to the younger folk we care for can be very damaging indeed. Even if it’s out of the fear that the world will hurt them more than we can.
It’s true that the world can indeed hurt the ones close to us. Why must we then inflict it before the world does, instead of creating a warm, safe net that our younger ones can return to in times when they hurt?
That notwithstanding… We are worth more than our grades. Our humanity isn’t defined by our jobs or how much we earn. Why must we make it so for those we care for? Why are we giving in purely to our fears that they will not have a good future, at the expense of their mental wellbeing?
