To be honest, some people struggle to shower. Some struggle to take care of their pets. Some struggle to just get out of bed, and once they’re out, to get back into bed.
So Dave is considered not as disabled as some others with depression. But it’s not an exaggeration that he’d end up sleeping where he lay down, after doing what he could.
If you can understand and believe that, then you’ve started to understand how debilitating depression can be.
